Mary Beth Rollins died July 19, 2007

Mary Beth Rollins died after a 65 foot fall off a museum roof.  Below is the article from the Baltimore Sun:

A 27-year-old Howard County firefighter and paramedic died early yesterday after she fell off the roof of the Baltimore Museum of Industry on Key Highway, authorities said.

Mary Elizabeth Rollins, who lived in the HarborView condominium complex in Federal Hill, was on the museum roof with a friend who worked as the museum's receptionist, said Roland H. Woodward, the museum director.

They got onto the roof from a staircase on the building's exterior and were trying to climb onto the museum's adjacent neon sign overlooking the water, Woodward said.

About 2:30 a.m., Rollins fell about 65 feet, said Officer Nicole Monroe, a city police spokeswoman.
She was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where she was pronounced dead at 6:39 a.m., Monroe said.
"We have not ruled out the possibility that alcohol may have been a contributing factor," Monroe said.

Rollins, a four-year veteran of the department, worked at the Ellicott City No. 2 fire station, said Bill Mould, a spokesman for the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services. She was known as Mary Beth, Mould said.

"Everyone who knew her and worked with her, to the letter, described her as a stellar employee," Mould said.
An only child, Rollins grew up in the King George area of Virginia and came to the Baltimore area to study at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She graduated and was enrolled in a nursing program at Catonsville Community College at the time of her death, Mould said.

Rollins enjoyed competing in triathlons and playing softball, Mould said.
"She was just an all-around great person," he said.

"We're really devastated," he said. "There was simply no reason for them to be there."

Cafeteria battles by Alina Kwak
I remember in the 9th and 10th grade my group of friends and I ended up sitting next to the popular girls' table.  It wasn't on purpose, it just happened to be that way.  All throughout the 9th grade the table next to us kept throwing grapes in my hair.  I just ignored it until one day, one of the girls from that table came up to me and said, "This is a gift from our table to yours."  I looked down and their table started laughing.  It was a mashed up sandwich with milk inside a plastic baggy.  I just lost my cool and threw it.  It hit  _____  square in the chest.  I still can't believe I didn't get in trouble AND after that incident she was surprisingly nice to me.

In the 10th grade, my table and the table next to us kept stealing chairs from each other.  One day, ____ from the other table demanded that we give back their chairs.  My friend said, "Ok, here's your chair."  She stood up and poured chocolate milk all over it and handed the chair over to them.  At first our table was in shock but then we started laughing hysterically.  Their table was screaming.

I always look back at those moments fondly because however cheesy and immature it was, it makes a great high school story and it taught me how to stand up for myself and others.

Can't wait to see everyone!! by Pete Fountain

I can't believe it has been ten years since we lined the halls of CMW.  It seems like yesterday that we were talking about what we were going to do after the football game or what we were going to do if Larry and Gump slid face first into a wall, after belly sliding down the hallway.  I can't wait to catch up and reminisce with everyone.

It has been a great ten years for me, I got to fulfill some of my dreams by playing pro football for the NFL, Arena and Europe.  Now I have decided to hang up the cleats on a competitive basis and just play for fun.  I am currently living in New Jersey with my wonderful fiance and our two dogs.

I hope to see everyone there!!
